We have reproduced an original lined swing-handle sewing carrier made by Sister Lillian Barlow (1876-1942) at the Mt. Lebanon, New York Shaker community. We make the carrier from select Pennsylvania cherry, secured with solid copper tacks. Lustrous hand-rubbed oil finish. It is lined, like the original, in a floral patterned satin fabric, in a soft blue color. (Fabric pattern may vary slightly from photograph.) Fitted with a “tomato” pincushion, a needlebook with flannel “leaves”, and a small cupcake-shaped beeswax. Sewing Carrier measures 9 3/8″ x 6 1/2″ x 4″ high. Made in USA.
